On the 2011 Busch Gardens New Roller Coaster RumorsJan 20, 03:30 PM by Graham Brooks
There are rumors swirling all around the internet about a possible new Busch Gardens Tampa roller coaster in 2011, among other things. First some facts that I know: we watch permits pretty closely and so far there have been no new filings for Busch Gardens. Until a permit is filed, you will not see any construction on anything, even if it is completely related to anything that gets most of you excited.
Now for my take on some of the rumors. As I mentioned in a previous article, if a new roller coaster is going to be built in 2011, we should know by May of this year (SheiKra began early construction in April, such as rerouting of the Serengeti Express). Until we know it is happening from building permits, it is hard to speculate on what type of ride and whatnot it could be.
Screamscape posted photos last week of a survey crew around the Nairobi area. Last week, a forum member posted a list of rumors, and one of them was a “walkway from EOA to Nairobi next month.” Thinking about it, it does seem logical that the crew could have been surveying for a potential new pathway from Nairobi to connect to the Edge of Africa. It would actually make a lot of sense and help improve the flow of visitors around the park.
As for any other rumors and happenings, I have not been able to gather anything concrete on anything so far. If any of the rumors are true, hard evidence should become available some time this spring.
